HOLISTIC MINDED LYME LITERATE PHYSICIAN IN THE NORTHWOODS

Traditional, Holistic, & Alternative Treatments

My practice incorporates knowledge across many disciplines of health and medicine to provide the best interventions, treatments or recommendations to fit the individual case.  One must treat the whole body and not in parts for total success.

Centering Healing

My mission is to help identify and eliminate chronic diseases in the body, and help you to access you innate healing.  This takes time and commitment as do all things, but mainly it takes mindfulness.

A Personal Approach

My goal is to improve your overall health and to empower you with an understanding of your condition and wellness plan, so that you will be able to function well again in society and achieve what you are meant to do.

LYME DISEASE- ONE OF TOO MANY TICK BORNE DISEASES

Tick-Borne Illness Center in the Northwoods

I have relocated to the Northwoods of Wisconsin as of Summer 2024!  See patients of ALL ages!

Board certified to see patients in WI as well as MI, IL, MN, NC, SC, FL, NV, AZ.

Come up to the Northwoods for the first visit in person, which is typically a 2-hour visit with labs. Follow up visits by telemedicine if needed.

What is an LLMD?

A Lyme Literate Physician (LLMD) is trained on protocols to treat acute or persistent Lyme disease, other tick-borne and zoonotic diseases.  Dr. Thatcher has trained with some of the best in the Northeast USA and maintains membership at ILADS where physicians, NPs, NDs and other medical professionals to care for patients continue to learn and share evidenced based information and stay abreast of scientific research and breakthroughs in management of tick borne diseases.

Lyme Borreliosis and the TBIs

Lyme disease comes from Borrelia Burgdorferi and a few other Borrelia… there are more than 3 dozen Borrelia and the others typically fall under Tick Borne Relapsing Fever Borrelia.

Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis: 3 tick borne diseases that have good labs testing, and when treated should not result in a chronic disease.

Babesiosis. Parasitic infection from ticks.  Hard to treat but in the post COVID era we discovered a new tool against it. Very poor testing outside of Igenex, sometimes only the FISH test is positive. but when you treat it you improve dramatically.

Bartonellosis is not even on the tick maps. Sometimes seems worse than Lyme disease. Hard to get out of the bones. Comes from the louse, gnat, biting fly, horse fly, and of course a tick can bring you some. This is why you need a good bug cream that is not just natural but covers for ticks, mosquitoes, and biting flies.

Chronic Lyme and Long COVID

A lot of parallels here. Both show missing bifidobacteria in the gut. Both activate IL-6. Both can trigger mast cell disorders thus antihistamines can help.

The interest in long COVID is only going to help our research in Chronic Lyme disease especially at the cellular level. Stay tuned!
